The Fun Archaeology is the collection of the french artist Thomas Mailaender. Archaeology, or archeology, is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, and cultural landscapes. Archaeology can be considered both a social science and a branch of the humanities. In North America, archaeology is considered a sub-field of anthropology, while in Europe archaeology is often viewed as either a discipline in its own right or a sub-field of other disciplines. Word Origin and History for fun: « diversion, amusement, » 1727, earlier « a cheat, trick » (c.1700), from verb fun (1680s) « to cheat, hoax, » of uncertain origin, probably a variant of Middle English fonnen « befool ». Stigmatized by Johnson as « a low cant word. » Older sense is preserved in phrase to make fun of (1737) and funny money « counterfeit bills » (1938, though this may be more for the sake of the rhyme). A Leather patch on top with golden imprint states « Hitler’s Moustache » and a swastika.The inside of the box is stuffed with a burgundy color fabric presentation pillow. A fake typical Hitler’s moustache is pinned on it.Unknown provenance. Most certainly a later post WWII party tricks faking a war trophy.
